Privacy Policy & Maritime Safety Disclaimer
Privacy Policy & Safe Angling Disclaimer
1. Core Policy: 100% Local-First Architecture
AnglerLog ("the Service") is architected around one uncompromising commitment: safeguarding the absolute confidentiality of your secret fishing spots, catch records, and personal angling data.
All data entered into the Service—including waypoint coordinates, spot nicknames, tide and weather observations, target species, length, weight, tackle setups, and uploaded trophy photos—is stored strictly within your device browser's local memory (IndexedDB / localStorage). Nothing is transmitted, collected, synced, or shared with external servers without your explicit manual export.
2. Use of GPS Location Services
The Service may request access to your device's GPS geolocation services solely to render your current position on the map, pin new fishing spots, and query tide/marine weather predictions for your current coordinates.
Geolocation data is processed locally on your device and never tracked, recorded, logged, or profiled on any remote server.
3. Photos & Media Storage
Photos captured or imported for catch logs and spot references are compressed and stored solely inside your local browser database. Your imagery and its associated metadata (such as EXIF geolocation) are never uploaded to any cloud storage or image repository.
4. Analytics, Cookies & Telemetry
To maintain portal infrastructure reliability, prevent abuse, and optimize availability, the Service may utilize privacy-preserving, cookieless analytics solutions such as Cloudflare Web Analytics. No cross-site tracking cookies or personal fingerprinting techniques are ever employed.
5. Maritime Safety & Fieldwork Disclaimer
Tide curves, astronomical moon phases, weather metrics, and sunrise/sunset times displayed in the Service are calculated estimates intended purely for recreational planning. Natural conditions, bathymetry, currents, and sudden squalls can cause actual conditions to diverge significantly from calculated models.
Always verify local maritime forecasts, marine police warnings, and national weather service advisories prior to heading out. Maintain maritime safety as your primary priority: wear an approved life vest / personal flotation device (PFD) at all times, avoid restricted or unstable coastal terrain, and withdraw promptly if weather or surf deteriorates.
The developer and operator disclaim all liability for any accidents, injuries, losses, or damages resulting from the use or inability to use the Service.
